The fleet of 2021 GMC Commercial Vehicles offers a wide range of options for businesses looking to build a commercial truck fleet. Take the 2021 Savana Cutaway, GMC’s versatile commercial van. This popular work truck offers businesses a blank slate for customization to meet their specific needs and the needs of their customers. So, you can easily tailor this van to meet your needs, rather than trying to make do with a model that is just 'close enough' to what you need.
A series of upfitted customization packages easily convert the GMC Savana Cutaway for a variety of commercial applications, and the three available wheelbase options further expand the Savana Cutaway’s range of commercial uses. With two powerful engines to choose from, the Savana Cutaway delivers sufficient performance power for heavy-duty use in a variety of settings while remaining fuel-efficient and affordable to operate. The 2021 Savana Cutaway is first and foremost a work vehicle, and GMC has equipped it with capabilities that get the job done. From the available WiFi hotspot and complimentary 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio to an intelligent suite of driver-assist safety systems, driver comfort and occupant safety are the priorities.
Powertrain and Capabilities
The 2021 Savana Cutaway is equipped with a standard 4.3-liter V6 engine that delivers 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque and an optional massive 6.6-liter V8 that ups performance to 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. Both are backed by GMC’s impressive 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty for peace-of-mind during heavy commercial use. With a max payload of 8,920 pounds, the cutaway is ready for just about any commercial configuration. 14,200 lbs of max Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) means the 2021 Savana Cutaway can handle lots of people and equipment, and the max Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) bumps up to 20,000 lbs, turning the truck into a very capable hauler. Tow/Haul Mode allows drivers to automatically adjust shifting to maximize towing performance with the touch of a dash-mounted button.
Every 2021 Savana Cutaway is equipped with StabiliTrak, an electronic stability control system that automatically detects any loss of vehicle traction and adjusts to maintain contact with the road. Opt for the available locking rear differential, and the system will lock the rear wheels for added traction whenever it detects they’re turning at different speeds. The Savana Cutaway’s Hill Start Assist helps drivers navigate grades more safely by holding the brakes until the accelerator is pressed to prevent the truck from rolling back whenever it’s stopped on a 5 percent or greater grade.
Available Upfit Configurations
The 2021 GMC Savana Cutaway is designed for configurability. Four different upfit packages make customization easy. Because the Savana Cutaway comes in three different wheelbases (247.2-inches, 267.2-inches, and 285.3-inches), businesses can dial in the exact size vehicle they need and even easily build a fleet of different sized vehicles. The Savana Cutaway is available in a 3500 and 4500 trim, with a standard 32-gallon fuel tank capacity and an available 57 gallon upgraded fuel tank.
GMC offers four available upfit configurations for commercial buyers. The School Bus Chassis Package converts the Savana Cutaway into either a Type A or Type C school bus. It includes a 33-gallon fuel tank, air conditioning, special rear heat fittings, a unique dual-note horn, a 220-amp alternator that includes two batteries, and a special wiring junction block accessory that includes two 30-amp circuits.
The Shuttle Bus Chassis package converts the Savana Cutaway into a people mover that’s perfect for hotels or airport shuttle companies. With passenger safety and comfort in mind, the Shuttle Bus Chassis package includes everything that’s included on the School Bus Package, plus special calibration that allows for independent operation of the turn signals and the stop signal. Both the School Bus and Shuttle Bus Chassis configurations allow a Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) of 4,300 lbs (3500 Cutaway) and 4,600 lbs (4500 Cutaway).
The Cutaway is available with an upfitted Ambulance & Rescue Package that equips the van with a Vortec 6.0-liter V8 engine, a back-up battery with rundown protection, a complete HVAC system, 4-wheel antilock brakes, a 220-amp alternator, and both a 120-volt power outlet and two 12-volt auxiliaries. All Savana Cutaway Vans with the Ambulance & Rescue Package include StabiliTrak electronic stability and traction control.
The Cutaway with Utility/Service Box upfit prepares the Savana Cutaway Van for heavy commercial use. With plenty of configurable storage and a heavy-duty 14,200 pound GVWR, this configuration is designed to convert the Savana Cutaway into a work truck. Choose from several available options, like an upgraded 6.0-liter engine and a separate second battery with rundown protection, to customize the Van for durability and heavy-duty commercial applications.
