What Paperwork Do You Need?

At Rick Hendrick Buick GMC Duluth, we try to make it as easy as possible to trade in your vehicle and get the most back for your car, truck, minivan, or SUV. On your end, this means bringing the necessary paperwork so we can get your vehicle processed and cash in your hand or credit toward a vehicle on our lot in next to no time at all. This means showing up with a few key essentials when you're ready to make the trade, including:

  • Photo ID for titleholders
  • Vehicle Registration and Title
  • Owner's Manuals
  • All Keys/Fobs/Remotes

Once you have all that information on hand, we can begin the process of getting the vehicle off your hands. If you still have the vehicle registration and title, it makes things very easy to get the process underway. These are essential documents for transferring the ownership of the title over to the dealership. If you don't have the vehicle registration and title, you can talk to one of our sales representatives, and we can work with you on getting the details sorted for the trade-in.

You'll also need all the keys, remotes, and fobs associated with the vehicle. If there is someone else who also drove the vehicle and has a key for it, be sure to retrieve the keys and turn them in when it's time to trade the vehicle in at our dealership. Owner's manuals are also great to have for troubleshooting or maintenance purposes, and while they aren't a necessity for trading the vehicle in, they may certainly help increase the value.
