As with any other motor vehicle, choosing the right truck starts with deciding on your personal needs.
Once you determine the model type you want, you then have to decide on a cab style. If you are only going to use your truck for work, then a Regular Cab with two doors and one row of seats would probably be ideal. A Regular Cab reduces the vehicle weight in the front, boosting the towing and payload capacities of your truck.
For those who want to use their trucks for family or pleasure vehicles, then a Crew Cab with two rows of seats and four full-size doors may make the most sense. These models can easily fit up to five passengers, providing the room you need on long family road trips, so you don’t hear complaints from the kids in the back seat.
Finally, for those who intend to use their trucks for a combination of work and fun, a Double or Extended Cab might be best. This has two rows of seats with two full-size front doors and two half-size rear doors. This provides room for extra passengers while not having as much vehicle weight, so you will be able to tow and carry more than the same truck with a Crew Cab.
You will also need to decide whether you are going to go with rear-wheel drive (RWD/2WD/4X2) or four-wheel drive (4WD/4X4). In general, trucks with four-wheel drive provide better traction, particularly in inclement weather, while those with rear-wheel drive can help you carry heavier loads in your payload and tow more. Again, this is because rear-wheel drive concentrates more weight in the rear of the truck than four-wheel drive. If your main purpose in buying your truck is to go off-roading, you will need a four-wheel drive truck since rear-wheel drive is not optimal for trails.
Since 1912, GMC has created amazing trucks that have graced our streets. Since then, GMC has constantly and consistently innovated its trucks, making incremental improvements to the existing models year after year to bring drivers improved features and performance. In this day and age, drivers can choose between the Canyon, Sierra 1500, Sierra Heavy Duty 2500/3500, and the Hummer EV Pickup. It just goes to show you that GMC has a vehicle for every driver.
There's quite a lot to say about the new GMC Sierra 1500 but we think you'll love its impeccable design, high-tech features, and stellar performance. Just check out these incredible features:
GMC offers the 2021 Sierra 1500 with five different engine options. A 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 is available that produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. When the Sierra 1500 is equipped with this engine, the Sierra can tow up to 7,900 lbs and carry a payload of up to 2,250 lbs.
If you are looking for great fuel economy ratings, look for the Sierra with a 2.7L I-4 engine. Rear-wheel drive models will have a combined fuel economy rating of 21 MPG, while four-wheel drive models will get up to 10 MPG combined. If power is what you seek, get a Sierra with either a 5.3L V8 or a 6.2L V8. The 5.3L engine will net you 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque; you can even tow up to 11,200 lbs with this engine under the hood. The 6.2L engine gets 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. With this engine and a max tow package, you'll be able to tow up to 11,800 lbs.
While these engine choices are fantastic, you may be wondering if a diesel engine is available. The answer to that is yes, and it's in the form of a 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel I-6 that produces 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This is also the most fuel-efficient model as it gets up to 30 MPG in the city.
If you prefer a midsize truck, then the Canyon is the pickup for you. From its incredible standard models for the everyday drive to the heavy-hitting off-road-ready AT4 trim, there is a new GMC Canyon model for everyone. Here are a couple of features we love about this incredible model:
The Canyon comes with three different engine choices. A 2.5L I-4 produces 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque while giving you exceptional fuel economy ratings. With this model, you'll get up to 22 MPG combined. The Canyon can be equipped with a 3.6L V6 that yields 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque, giving you the ability to tow up to 7,000 lbs. Finally, you can get the Canyon with a 2.8L Duramax Turbo-Diesel I-4 that has 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. With this engine and a tow package, you will have a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 lbs.
